Areas of responsibility include oversight of New York State Emergency
Medical Technician and Certified First Responder courses; development
and coordination of non-certifying basic EMS courses; and participation
on numerous local and state EMS committees. Paul has been active in
EMS with several agencies since his career began in 1991 and remains
an active paramedic. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Political Science
and Organization Psychology from the University of Rochester and Masters
of Public Administration from SUNY-Brockport. Paul joined the PSTC Staff
in October, 2001.

Peter Bonadonna
Program Coordinator/Lecturer, Paramedic Program and Advanced Emergency
Medical Services Programs
Areas of responsibility include: ALS program planning, curriculum development,
ALS CME and budgeting; ALS faculty recruitment and supervision; marketing
and advertisement; review of program effectiveness; direct teaching
for all ALS programs; development of curriculum, teaching methods, instructional
materials and student evaluation processes; clinical and field training
coordination; and management of the student selection process. His efforts
have been recognized by the NYS Department of Health Award for Excellence
in Teaching. Peter is a certified Paramedic, practicing since 1978.
He joined the PSTC staff in 1989.

Peter Brunett
Program Coordinator/Instructor - Curriculum Development
Areas of responsibility include program development, coordination and instruction of training programs for law enforcement and other public safety agencies.Additionally, Pete assists other instructors with the development and implementation of teaching methods, educational materials, and the utilization of instructional technology to enhance learning.These responsibilities encompass law enforcement, emergency medical services, fire service, homeland security, and other public safety disciplines. This is a combined teaching and administrative position.
Pete joined the staff at the PSTC in 2007 after serving 25 years in Law Enforcement with the Rochester Police Department and Monroe County Sheriff's Office. Pete served in numerous assignments including patrol, tactical, criminal investigations, research and evaluation, labor relations, and budget. In addition, Pete was an assistant commander of the SWAT Team and worked as Chief of Staff for two police chiefs. Pete's training and teaching background is extensive at both the recruit and in-service levels. Pete was also a trainer for BOWMAC and worked with Pictometry on law-enforcement software development. Pete rose to the rank of Division Commander where he commanded a patrol division that served the City of Rochester’s east side. Pete holds a bachelor/master's degree in Criminal Justice from the State University College at Buffalo and graduated from the FBI National Academy in 2002.

Marc Connolly
Manager, Emergency Services Programs
Areas of responsibility include: new program development as well as
the supervision of and curriculum development for the Fire Protection
Technology, Leadership and Management, TEAM, and Haz Mat Programs. Marc
is also an active EMT-Paramedic, in service since 1984 and holds bachelor's
and master's degrees in business administration. His areas of special
interest lie in the fields of organizational behavior/development and
water rescue. Marc joined the PSTC in 1987.

Russ Coriddi
Program Coordinator/Lecturer, Law Enforcement Recruit Programs
Areas of responsibility include coordination of and curriculum development for law enforcement recruit programs, including: Police, Security Guard, Probation, and Corrections. Russ also coordinates the usage and grant funding of the Rush Firing Range. Russ joined the staff at the PFTC in 2006 after serving 31 years with the Rochester Police Department. Russ served in numerous assignments including patrol, narcotics, and criminal investigations. In addition, Russ was a member of the SCUBA Squad and co-commanded the Mobile Field Force unit. Russ rose to the rank of Division Commander where he commanded a patrol division that served the City of Rochester’s west side and downtown and the Special Operations Section, which included the Tactical Unit, K-9 Unit, Bomb Squad, Emergency Task Force, SCUBA Squad, and the Mobile Field Force. Russ holds a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management

Jennifer Dougherty
Technical Assistant, Emergency Services Programs
Areas of responsibility include support for the BLS and ALS programming to include Paramedic accreditation. Jennifer also assists in the facilitation of Rochester and Monroe County Fire Department in-service training. She coordinates as well as instructs American Heart Association CPR programs and has been a certified EMT since 1993. Prior to her employment with the PSTF, Jennifer was a Dispatcher, Operator and Trainer at the Livingston County Sheriff's Department's 911 Center as well as the Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement point person for the Emergency Medical Dispatching Program.

John Frontuto
Video Specialist, Interactive Learning Technologies Programs
Areas of responsibility include instructional design and curriculum
development for technology-based delivery systems, needs analysis, research,
scriptwriting, and design of testing instruments, as well as supervision
of all aspects of video production. John has an extensive background
in film, television, and commercials and was part of a production team
that won a New York State Emmy in Children's Programming. He holds a
bachelor's degree in Film/Video. John joined the staff in 1995.

Daren Hammond
Videographer/Editor, Interactive Learning Technologies Programs
Areas of responsibility include production preplanning, videography,
and computer editing of video-based training programs. Daren has over
12 years experience as a news videographer and almost 20 years experience
as a commercial still photographer. He has an Associate's degree in
Applied Technology. Daren joined the staff in 2000.

Michael Karnes
Dean of Public Safety Programs
Areas of responsibility include supervision of Monroe Community College's
Public Safety Training Center, as well as the new Public Safety Training
Facility on Scottsville Road. Mike began his appointment as Director
starting in October 2000, after a 32-year career with the Rochester
Police Department. He has an outstanding record of leadership, his most
recent as Captain of the Criminal Investigation Division, including
Homicide Investigation, Forgery and Fraud Unit, Victim Assistance Unit,
and Crime Analysis. Thus far in his career, Mike has served as a commanding
officer, chief hostage negotiator, SWAT team member, and criminal investigator,
as well as a volunteer firefighter. Mike is an FBI National Academy
Graduate and holds a bachelor's degree in Organization Management. He
has been honored with numerous awards for distinguished community service
and excellent police service, including Officer of the Year.

David Monk
Program Coordinator/Instructor, Law Enforcement In-Service Programs
Areas of responsibility include coordination of and curriculum development
for Law Enforcement In-Service programs.
Dave gave 20 years of service as a police officer and is recognized
as an expert in the area of substance abuse strategies for prevention,
treatment, education, and enforcement, for which he was the recipient
of the International Narcotics Enforcement Officers Association Award
of Honor. Dave has served as the Associate Director for the NYS Substance
Abuse Education Project SASA, Coordinator of Substance Abuse Prevention
Programs for Wyoming County Department of Mental Health, and was assigned
to the Drug Enforcement Administration Task Force. He is a New York
state credentialed substance abuse counselor, a certified addiction
specialist, an adjunct professor in the Health Science and Public Administration
Departments at the State University of New York College at Brockport,
and a Master Instructor with the New York State Municipal Police Training
Council. Dave holds a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and a master's
in Public Administration. He joined the PSTC in 1993.

Susan Nupp
Administrative Assistant, Public Safety Training
Areas of responsibility include payroll, purchase requisition, budget
planning and management, inventory control of administrative supplies,
Law Enforcement Council and Training Subcommittee support, as well as
general staff support. Sue also manages PSTC room usage. She joined
the PSTC staff in 1989.

Jim
Ryan
Technical Assistant, Air Crash and Fire Simulations
Areas of responsibility include the proper and safe operation of all
live-fire simulators at the new Public Safety Training Facility currently
under construction on Scottsville Road. He is also responsible for training
and certifying all instructors who operate the simulator system. Jim
is an active volunteer firefighter and EMT, in service since 1981. He
joined the PSTC staff in 1998.

Marjorie Scahill
Senior Technical Assistant, Law Enforcement Programs
Areas of responsibility include: law enforcement program operational support, including reservation and registration procedures; customer relations; student trouble-shooting and support; database record maintenance; budget management; instructor support; assessing and responding to customer needs. Manages and coordinates the NYS Security Guard Program; scheduling, monitoring, and assessing instructors. Manages the distribution and documentation of the video-based training program for recruit and inservice police. Margie holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and joined the PSTC staff in 1988.
