Online Interlibrary Loan Request Page

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service available to MCC faculty, staff and students. By obtaining library materials not available at Monroe Community College, ILL is able to assist in supporting research and study. Typically, the following materials are obtained through ILL:  books and microforms are borrowed and journal article reproductions are sent.

** Students are encouraged to exhaust all available resources through MCC's Libraries before requesting material through ILL. **

Interlibrary Loan FACTS

  • Some materials are NOT available through this service:

    • New (current) books
    • books older than 100 years
    • entire issues or volumes of journals
    • textbooks
  • The ILL department processes all requests as quickly as possible. Use this service if you can allow one to two weeks for the material to arrive.

  • Patrons are limited to five total ILL requests per day (journal/book combined).
  • Read complete Policies: Interlibrary Loan
  • FirstSearch database users may also take advantage of the online "ILL Direct" service.

When ILL items are received by MCC, the borrower will be notified by e-mail, phone or mail, depending on user preference.

  • Physical materials may be picked up during regular Library hours. Article copies will be sent via e-mail, when applicable.
  • Patrons are responsible for the safe return of loans to the Library.
  • Failure to observe the rules of ILL will result in the loss of borrowing privileges for the borrower.

Please check ALEX - MCC Online Catalogfor possible ownership of books and journals before submitting an Interlibrary Loan request.
