Monroe Community
College’s LeRoy V. Good Library is thrilled to present Let’s Talk
About It: Jewish Literature – Identity and Imagination, a
reading and discussion series like no other! Through the discussion of
five works encompassing the theme Between Two Worlds: Stories of
Estrangement and Homecoming, the participants will examine the
diverse literature of the Jewish experience. This unique program was
developed by Nextbook, a gateway
to Jewish literature, culture and ideas, and the
American Library Association.
Let's Talk About It is a community-wide program and is open
to all members of the public.
Book discussions will
be held every three weeks beginning September
11, 2007, in the Forum in the
R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center (Bldg. 3) on Monroe Community
College’s Brighton Campus. Each discussion will be introduced by a short
lecture and facilitated by local Jewish literature scholar
Dr. Barbara Lovenheim.
The discussion books
are Exodus: The Second Book of Moses, Lost in Translation: A Life in
a New Language, The Centaur in the Garden,
Kaaterskill Falls, and
Out of Egypt: A Memoir.
Please RSVP to
letstalk@monroecc.edu or 585-292-2338 if you are interested in
participating in order to receive an information packet or if you have
any questions. |
